Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information labrary (the "Service") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. labrary is a project management tool for independent developers. We aim to collect as little as we need to run the Service well.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name and email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Content you create: the projects, ideas, notes, bugs, changelog entries, revenue and service records, and other content you add to labrary.
- Connection tokens: when you connect an AI assistant to the labrary MCP server, we store the access and refresh tokens needed to keep that connection working.
- Technical and usage data: basic information such as your IP address, browser or device type, and server logs, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Diagnostics: when something goes wrong, we collect error reports to help us find and fix bugs.
How we use your information
- to provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- to authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- to send you transactional email you have asked for, such as password resets and email verification;
- to detect, prevent, and address abuse, security issues, and technical problems;
- to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to serve advertising.
How your information is shared
We share information only with the service providers that help us run labrary, and only as needed for them to perform their work for us. These include:
- Neon: our managed database provider, which stores your account and content.
- Resend: our transactional email provider, which delivers account emails such as password resets and verification links.
- Sentry: our error monitoring provider, which processes diagnostic reports.
- Cloudflare and our hosting provider: which serve and protect the application.
When you connect an AI assistant such as Claude through the Model Context Protocol, the content you make available to it is sent to that assistant at your direction. That processing is governed by the assistant provider's own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of labrary and its users.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your account and the content associated with it. Some limited information may remain in backups or logs for a short period before it is overwritten, and we may retain records where the law requires it.
Your rights and choices
You can view and update your basic account details, and you can permanently delete your account and all of its content at any time from the danger zone in your account settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To make a request, email us at [email protected].
Security
We protect your information with measures such as password hashing and encryption of data in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
International transfers
Our providers may store and process your information in countries other than your own. Where that happens, we rely on those providers' safeguards for handling personal information across borders.
Children
labrary is not intended for anyone under 16, or under the age of digital consent in their country if that is higher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
